Duane Allman was the guitarist, founder and original leader of the Allman Brothers band. While the band was on break from touring.

Duane was riding his Harley sportster and was in an accident that took his life on October 29, 1971. Berry Oakley was the bassist and one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers band. Berry was riding his motorcycle and was in an accident just three blocks from where Duane had been killed, the year before Barry died on November 11, 1972. He was 24 years old.
